Life in United Arab Emirates.
The Dubai terrace makes every presentation look like an announcement. Leila is careful about this. A beautiful backdrop can make an ordinary thought seem more finished than it is, so the team holds its most important reviews in a plain room with a very good whiteboard.
Colleagues here have come from many places and bring different ways of solving a problem. The shared office language is practical: show me, let’s try it, would you like some tea? Headquarters keeps trying to turn this into a branded methodology. The team keeps using it.
At sunset the buildings catch the light and the terrace fills up. Nobody is networking. They are just people who have finished a day together, watching something lovely happen for free.
“We have a view. We do not need a vision about the view.”
